James Brochin, of the Maryland State Senate, has decided to change his stance on gay marriage, and is now devoted to supporting it. His reason? He was appalled at the display of hate by opponents of the same-sex marriage bill. Although his personal beliefs have previously resulted in Brochin supporting civil unions, but not gay marriage, he recently stated, “I’m not going to be a part of the vilification of gays on the senate floor”.
Brochin is a supreme example of someone who finally recognized the reality of hate and discrimiation against gays and lesbians in America. Although he will not personally benefit from voting for gay marriage, he now believes it is the right thing to do.
James Brochin… thank you. We accept you as our ally.
