“If you don’t support gay marriage, then don’t marry a gay person…”, many of us often say. And really, it’s just as simple as that. There are many actions in this world in which the consequences can directly affect other people. That’s why we have laws in effect to protect others against things ilke secondhand smoke or drunk driving. As for gay marriage… why make laws against it? It’s not hurting anyone else. Legalizing gay marriage would only bring equality to a group of Americans who have known oppression all too well.
